We had no idea what to expect in California, so we had planned from the start to take Terra to Disneyland for her birthday, so it would be a great memory for her. It was worth it. So much fun to see her reactions to the characters. Everyone told her happy birthday and it was the perfect age for her to go. She was happy to meet all of the princesses. We were pooped at the end of the day though, just the non stop walking and sun were enough to knock us out.
I'm grateful that Grammy was able to come for her birthday. It was really hard for her, but we were able to do most of the rides more quickly because of her chair. And Terra really loves having her here, just a new person to share all of her experiences with. I'm impressed with how much she tries to help Grammy out, opening and closing her doors, holding her hand and doing sweet things like that. She's a good kid.
All in all it was super memorable. After the fireworks were done, I was holding her up high so she could have a better view. She hugged my neck and said in my ear, "Thank you for my birthday Daddy," and that made everything worth it.
Presents the day before Disney.
Meeting Snow White, I'm glad she had a skirt to curtsy with.
Watching our first parade as soon as we got in the park.
Meeting Ariel, Terra said Ariel was her favorite before we went to the park, but after the trip she seemed to lean towards Belle.
Disney Castle.
We are apparently not Kings.
Come on and ride with me little girl, on a magic Dumbo ride.
Sitting in the Mad Hatters Tea Cup ride.
Long line for Aladdin and Jasmine, Terra didn't really like Aladdin til recently.
The parade was nuts. They have the coolest floats. Great to see Mary Poppins.
Chef Goofy kept farting at us.
Grammy left Goofy hanging at the end when he tried to give her a high five. Highlight of the moment there.
Cinderella came to say hello, I think at this point Terra was a bit overwhelmed by all of the characters.
Alice was a bit weird.
Chip and Dale came around, but Terra really wanted to say hi to Minnie.
Minnie admired Mary's Wonder Woman tattoo and was excited about it.
The cake! Half of it made it home in more or less a cake shape.
Final ride of the evening, Buzz Lightyear shoot em up ride. She loved it.
Getting ready for Fireworks
It was a magical day.
