Flying Cats

There are times when children are sweet innocent lovely things. And other times they toss your cat off of the second floor onto some stairs.

Luckily Eli (our black and white male) wasn't injured too badly. He landed wrong on the stairs and fractured his eye socket. Had to make a trip to the ER to make sure he wasn't going to lose the eye that was bleeding. He is perched behind me on the computer chair now, happy as can be. Really amazed at how wonderful the vet services were here on Okinawa. The whole trip which included an X-ray, consultation, a shot of pain killer and take home painkiller treats was only around 70 bucks. I remember trips to the vet being more around the scale of 200 to 300 back in the states. I'm just glad he is ok.

Terra doesn't seem to understand the whole situation yet. She did get upset after the initial panic, but after that she was telling everyone who would listen that she, "Threw Eli!" and that he was hurt real bad. I know she didn't know what she did, but it is hard to figure out a response to that situation. We are definitely watching her more closely with the animals. Here's hoping that no more go flying off the balcony.
