Paul is gone and we miss him already. We dropped him off this morning at an unmarked parking lot far within Camp Pendleton. Camp Pendleton is so large that it has several other Camps within it's boarders along with it's own air station. He will spend six weeks, yup you guessed it at Twentynine Palms. Seems like that is the go-to base for all things related to training. This time he won't be in a cozy comfortable air conditioned hotel room. Six weeks of sleeping in un AC'd squadbays, let's hope it cools off enough at night in the high desert for them to sleep comfortably. Luckily the place in which he will call his office does have air conditioner. One perk of working with COM equipment.
After the six weeks are up, we'll go pick him up probably back at that non descript parking lot and then he'll get to come home. Good news is that his 9 month deployment might have been pushed back until October! More time at home will be wonderful.
